2020 Silverado 3.0L Duramax Build: Phase One

2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 3.0L Duramax hunting truck build

The new truck is a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 3.0L Duramax diesel, and it's getting built out one phase at a time to haul two German Shorthaired Pointers and gear into remote upland country. Here's phase one, documented as it happened.

The Starting Point: Stock

Every build starts somewhere. This is the Silverado completely stock, before any work.

Bed Liner: Patriot Liners

The bed takes the most abuse on a hunting truck: kennels, gear, mud, and dogs loading in and out. A Patriot Liner bed liner went in at Back Country Upfitters in North Idaho.

Chrome Delete: Petty Wraps

The factory chrome is gone. Petty Wraps in Spokane handled the chrome delete, along with the window tint.

Before and After

Dog Kennels Move In

The kennels made the jump from the old truck to the new one, with Poppy supervising and Sage trying to help. Then I drove 800 miles to pick up a new kennel for the setup.

What's Next

Katzkin leather interior is done. Lift, tires, battery and off-grid power, and the full kennel setup are next. Follow the whole build on the build page.
